Pada kompetisi kali ini team rider RUSTY berhasil mempertahankan prestasi serta mengulang kembali kesuksesan 2006 di tahun 2007 ini. Posisi terbaik juara nasional masih disandang oleh Pevi. Untuk menjadi yang terbaik pada event ini tidaklah mudah bagi Pevi. Panasnya cuaca dan kondisi obstacle (alat-alat pertandingan) yang tergolong sulit pada saat itu, memaksa Pevi untuk lebih bekerja keras. Babak penyisihan dengan system best run in 2 run sangat menolong para rider pada saat bertanding. Run Pevi terbilang sangat baik, dimulai dengan 50-50 di ledge langsung menuju quarter pipe dengan f/s indie grab, footplan di double banks, dan 360 flip naik ke starting point, kemudian menuju ke quarter dengan b/s arial to tail tap, transfer handplan di spinner dan di tutup dengan fs transfer stelfish di quarter, menghantarnya ke final. Sayangnya kesuksesan Pevi tidak diikuti oleh Reno dan Izad. Reno terlihat tidak pada performa terbaiknya. Beberapa trik yang tidak landing dengan mulus membuat Reno kehilangan banyak waktu,akhirnya Reno tidak berhasil masuk kedalam 10 besar final round. Begitu juga dengan Izad yang terlihat kurang konsisten dalam setiap run penyisihannya juga tidak menolongnya masuk ke putaran final.
Pada putaran final Pevi memang terlihat “menggila”, lagi-lagi konsistensi trick, ditambah dengan frontside benihanna, penguasaan area skatepark dan mental Juara sudah cukup untuk menjadikan dia sebagai skater no.1 Indonesia tahun 2007. Tidak hanya street course saja, Pevi juga berhasil menjadi juara 1 Bowl contest dengan trick : 50-50 stall, f/s indie, f/s stelfish, curving, f/s benihanna, b/s air to tail, rock n roll to fakie and f/s boneless to tail.Juara 1 Street Open, Juara 1 Bowl Contest, peringkat pertama Indonesia adalah prestasi terbaik team rider tahun 2007 ini.
Pada saat Band performance (ROSEMARY) berlangsung, semua orang dikagetkan karena Pevi sempat menaiki Flying Fox bergantungan tepat diatas skatepark dan langsung membagikan giveaway dari Rusty. Crowd di stage, Rosemary membagikan sticker, lanyard, keyring, poster dan banyak lagi. Semua saling berebutan untuk mendapatkannya its so cool….We’re ready to kick more serious ass in 2008 ! Be prepared !

Trilogy Premiere Report from The Scene
Acara premiere film terbaru dari Billabong ini diadakan di Sail Fin Restaurant, Kuta – Bali, Sabtu 23 November 2007. Dari press release, judul film Trilogy (3 - tiga) adalah Magic Number. Tiga disini bisa dijabarkan sebagai masa lalu, masa sekarang dan masa depan, ataupun hati, otak dan badan kita.
The surf? Well, ngga ada yang bisa komplen sama film yang cast-nya surfer kelas dunia Joel Parkinson, Andy Irons dan Taj Burrow. Period.
Kesan lain dari acara ini adalah perayaan ulang tahun surfer pro Rizal Tandjung dan Ismael Dully. Ulangtahun keduanya, yang didaulat ke panggung musik, dimana seluruh surf industry insiders menyanyikan Happy Birthday untuk keduanya. Ngga ada lempar-lemparan kue tart, tetapi sisipan ini menambah ramainya acara.

Acara ini akan diadakan di Sail Fin Retaurant, Jl. Pantai Kuta no. 1, tanggal 23 November 2007, Jam 9 malam (WITA) sampai selesai.

Congratulations to Rusty Indonesia

Untuk kedua kalinya Rusty skate rider kembali membuat harum nama Indonesia melalui penampilan mereka di Macau Asian Indoor Games yang ke 2, pada event, Asian Indoor games 2 tahun yang lalu di Thailand Rusty rider juga mempersembahkan medali kepada Indonesia melalui Reno Pratama yang memboyong medali perak, kini giliran Pevi Permana menyumbangkan medali Perunggu untuk kategori kelas Park, kelas ini adalah kelas paling bergengsi. Sedangkan Medali emas diraih oleh Indonesia skater lainnya yaitu I Putu Yogi.
Tampil dengan kepercayaan penuh Pevi Permana, pada babak penyisihan dapat melakukan hampir semua trik-trik nya dengan mulus, run 1 Pevi melakukan jumping double grap over the launch ramp, 50-50 grind.
Di quarter pipe, frontside ollie di quarter pipe, Madonna over the spine, backside air to tail, 50-50 grind di rail, lien air di quarter pipe, boneless over the pyramid, 50-50 grind di ledge. Penampilan ini membuat Pevi menduduki peringkat ke 3 pada babak penyisihan sehingga dapat melaju ke babak final.
Pada babak final yang dilaksanakan pada esok harinya, Pevi sedikit melakukan perubahan triknya, tetapi dengan tidak merubah line yg telah dia jalani pada penyisihan kemarin, trik seperti benihana, stalefish, mampu membuat Pevi tetap berada pada posisi ke 3 sehingga dia berhak mendapatkan medali Perunggu. Rider Rusty lainnya yaitu Reno Pratama juga berhasil mendapatkan medali perunggu pada pre event Asian Indoor Games di Macau ini seminggu sebelumnya.
Kini rider Rusty kembali akan berlatih guna menghadapi Asian Indoor Games yang ke 3 di Vietnam, Tim manager Rusty rider untuk Macau Asian Indoor Games 2007, Yudi Toengkagie mengatakan bahwa dia akan mempersiapkan para rider Rusty, untuk lebih banyak lagi berlatih untuk memperlancar trik-trik mereka tersebut dan mengatur strategi yang lebih baik lagi. Dari seluruh skater-skater Asia lainnya terlihat bahwa mental para skater Indonesia lebih baik dari pada negara-negara lain, ini dikarenakan sering di adakannya kompetisi-kompetisi nasional, seperti ISA National series, yg sangat membantu sekali untuk para rider dalam menghadapi setiap kompetisi.

Lee Balo Wilson Receives 2007 Pro Surfer of the Year and Most Popular Surfer of the Year Awards at ISC Awards Night
5 November 2007, Kuta-Bali: Lee Balo Wilson received the ISCs 2007 Pro Surfer of the Year title and trophy, and was voted the Most Popular Surfer, on Saturday November 3rd at the Indonesian Surfing Championship Awards Presentation. The Awards Presentation took place at The Wave nightclub which is positioned almost directly on Kuta Beach, a place many consider the birthplace of the sport of surfing in Indonesia.
A crowd of over 200 members of the local surfing industry, media and friends started off their Saturday night by honoring the top surfers in Indonesia in four categories, Junior, Pro Junior, Masters, and Pro. The categories of Pro Junior and Junior are new, having been added for the 2007 season.
First up to receive his award was the 2007 Junior Champion, 15-year-old One Anwar from Sumbawa. One (pronounced Oh-Nay) has been on fire this year, first winning the 2007 Quiksilver King of the Groms series (which got him a trip to France for the Grand Finals in August) and then just last week taking the overall win at the 2007 Rip Curl GromSearch series for the second year in a row. That means hell be going to Australia again in 2008 to compete in the World GromSearch Finals at Bells Beach. First Runner Up in the Junior category was Komang Putra Hermawan, and Ones older brother, Gazali Hamzah, was 2nd Runner Up.
Next to take the stage was 2007 Pro Junior Champion Mustofa Jeksen, no stranger to the podium and at 17 years old already a seasoned veteran, having traveled to many international destinations to free surf and to compete. Jeksen was last years ISC Rookie of the Year, and this year gets honors for finishing at the top of the rankings for an Indonesian in the newly introduced Billabong Pro Junior Series. 1st Runner up was the absent Agus Pernawan, and 2nd Runner Up was Kadek Murtika.
For the second year in a row, Kutas local legend and owner of The Surf Shop on Jalan Legian, Wayan Gantiyasa, took top spot in the Masters division. He climbed up on the stage to receive his trophy with the help and cheers of his friends. He had apparently been celebrating for several hours before his arrival, and seemed to be enjoying his evening immensely. 1st Runner Up was Wayan Pica, and 2nd Runner Up was none other than Bali Barrels Ketut Menda.
Before the man of the evening was called up, MCs Rani and Rahtu first called up Marlon Gerber to accept the 2nd Runner Up award for last years Number 1, and Marlons brother-in-law, Rizal Tanjung. (Rizal was in Japan so couldnt attend.) Next up was 1st Runner Up Wayan Suprayitna, who had his first ISC win at the Oakley Thump this year and has been a strong competitor in every event in the 2007 season tour.
Mr. Popular Lee Wilson was then called to the stage amidst the cheers and hoots of the crowd to receive his trophy. When MC Rahtu handed him the microphone, Lee had this to say: I started the year with this goal in mind, to win the championship, and to be here and have it come true is magic. I want to thank everyone involved in this tour and in the industry for making this possible. There are so many people that all play their parts, all along the way, and they are all really important, so without them I couldnt stand up here now. And especially I want to thank my Dad and Mom, who have given me unbelievable support. Thanks everyone!
Lee was 1st Runner Up to Rizal Tanjung in 2006, and set out at the beginning of the 2007 season to put his name on the trophy by the end of the year. His go-for-it style, natural ability, and commitment to the goals he set put him solidly in first place with wins at the first two events of the season, a position he retained through the remainder of the season. Lee was born and raised in Indonesia, his father from Australia and his mother is Indonesian. He has been sponsored by Rip Curl since he was 13 years old, and has been featured in numerous times in international surfing magazines and videos.
